Dear Colleagues,

You are receiving this email because you have agreed to participate in the Organizing and/or Scientific Committees of the Geo-Risk 2017/ISGSR 2017 conference to be held in Denver, Colorado, on June 4-7 2017. Membership of these committees consists mainly of RAM, GEOSNet, TC304 and TC205 members.

The conference web-site went live on March 1st at www.georiskconference.org where a deadline for general abstract submission has been set for May 11th 2016. People submitting abstracts will be asked to direct their work to one of the following conference themes:

1.Practice of risk assessment and management in all fields of geoengineering

2. Geohazards such as landslides, slope failures, dams and levees, earthquakes, and geoenvironmental hazards including those caused by human activity.

3. Code development and harmonization

4. Advances in geotechnical Reliability Based Design

5. Load and resistance factor design (LRFD) developments and applications.

6. Acceptable risk and risk communication including applications to insurance and financial decision-making.

7. Impact of spatial variability and site characterization

8. Uncertainty relating to geotechnical properties, models and testing methods

9. Advances in the applications of theory and practice of statistics and probability in geoengineering

10. Emerging Topics

In addition to regular abstract submission, you are invited to send us proposals for special sessions in the following areas:

i. Session Proposals on more focused topics
(Proposers in this category are encouraged to include the names of up to 6 speakers who are willing to participate)
